I spent a fun two days on Monday and Tuesday this week working with my friend Alicia on the Central Coast of NSW. We went into the shoot with a bunch of loose ideas about shooting some ‘Gypsy-ish’ type shots and some Mermaid shots. Then we found a cool waterfall and expanded things to include some kind of angel and ‘nature-spirit-ish’ shots.
We were blessed with perfect weather and managed to find some great locations to shoot and ended up with an unusually high number of good, strong images. Alicia was after some good shots for her modeling portfolio and I wanted some more interesting, edgy and moody shots. I think we managed to hit both, sometimes in the same shot.
Alicia is not only one of the nicest people you could meet she’s also fantastic to work with – she’s game to do what it takes to get the right shot (even though I had to strip off and do the ‘under the waterfall’ shots first…she jumped right in straight after me). She’s also got quite a striking look and amazing hair.
The mermaid shots especially were kinda tricky for both of us (we didn’t really think that one through too thoroughly) and not really comfortable on the rocks but Alicia was a real trooper.
Once I’ve sorted through them I’ll post some pictures, probably over the next day or so and you can see for yourself so be sure to check back soon.
