Another Mermaid Adventure…
I had a fun evening last Friday down at the beach trying to capture another mermaid - this time with Suzi of Tea by the Sea fame. We were trying to get some darker, moody shots with the full moon…
It started off perfectly - a beautiful warm evening at the end of a really hot day…but there were ominous clouds about and a storm forecast…
Well, darker and moody we got… It got really dark, really quickly, the moon was playing hide-and-seek with the clouds, there was lightning flashing all around the horizon - all nice for setting a ‘mood’ - and then a massive storm rolled in. Here’s a cool shot of the storm:

In spite of all that, we still got some decent shots before we got rained out - I’ll post a link to a selection in a day or so.
Those kind of conditions - especially with the light (or lack of light) are really tricky to work with - long exposure times and the attendant movement blur, ‘noise’ in the image, etc - but they’re great for the whole ‘darker and moody’ thing. So we got our wish with that but I don’t think we quite nailed it - looks like we might have another crack at it…

What a wonderful photo Craig! You captured this exciting event in nature perfectly. You can almost see a man’s face looking upon the city. Extraordinary!
